Figlia Mia Ceramica offers you over 13 years of experience in dealing with dealers from Umbria. Figlia Mia Ceramica began in my sophomore history class. Well, maybe it’s better to say it had its beginnings then. My assignment for that 6 week period was to correspond with a foreign pen-pal. I received the name of a student in Italy and my passion for Italy was born. After my first trip to Gubbio, Italy, I decided to major in Italian. I married and moved to High Point, NC, the furniture capital of the world, and quickly found work with an Italian company here. I was employed for several years with that company until I had my daughter and decided to stay at home with her. Now our second daughter has joined the craziness. During my stays in Italy, I would always bring back ceramic gifts from a little store in Gubbio for my friends and family. I decided to go out on my own and expand this little “gift giving” ring and thus Figlia Mia was created, using my contacts in Italy. For more than three years we have been successfully selling in the North Carolina area and are now branching out. Figlia Mia Ceramica imports only the finest gift and tableware from the Umbrian region of Italy. Our artisians have been in business for several generations and take great pride in providing quality merchandise to all of their customers. By the way, what does “Figlia Mia” mean? It’s the Italian way of saying “my girl”, much like Americans would use “princess” or “angel”. I looked no further than my daughter for the inspiration for the name.
